In areas that need watering, we have a drip irrigation system that wastes much less water than traditional sprinkling systems. These measures allow us to save thousands of gallons of water on our landscaping.

Concerning our plumbing, we have low-flow toilets , which use about 20 percent less water than regular toilets. Each low-flow toilet can surprisingly save up to 13,000 gallons of water per year!

Reducing Paper and Plastic

At River House Apartments, we are cutting down on paper and plastic waste. We go paperless by doing everything—rent payments, service requests, applications, and notices—online. This switch to paperless has helped us to be much more eco-friendly while also providing a more convenient process for our residents.

In order to reduce plastic waste, we have provided a water bottle refill station on the property. This has been significantly reducing the waste from plastic water bottles.

Encouraging Recycling

One of the best ways to be more eco-friendly is to recycle. Our residents are encouraged to recycle along with our staff. Recycling bins have been conveniently located in our office. Items you can recycle include plastic bottles and containers, empty cans, paper, and flattened cardboard. However, you cannot recycle food, liquid, plastic bags, plastic wrap, or cups with wax or plastic coating. 

Recycling can also be taken locally in Santa Ana to OC Recycling . This small change in habit can make a big difference for our planet.

Organic waste recycling will be coming soon to our local community, and we can’t wait to participate!
